Airways offers Phuket discount

Posted on February 14, 2012

Bangkok Airways has launched an online fare promotion to Phuket, but bookings must be in place by 29 February.

The deal is Bt2,090 per sector, excluding taxes and surcharges or Bt4,380, all-in for a roundtrip.

The travel period expires 31 March. Bangkok Airways operates six daily flights to Phuket.

The deal betters Thai Airways International’s Bt5,360 Travel Around Thailand fare, its sole competitor in the full service segment.

An advantage is access to Bangkok Airways airport lounges, which is one of the few airlines to offer lounge service to economy class passengers. The upside for THAI is a longer booking window until 31 March and a choice of nine daily flights compared to six on PG.

In the budget segment, Nok Air sells the route at Bt3,780 and Orient Thai Airlines at Bt3,100. Both give a 15 kg of baggage allowance plus a small snack on board and operates twice daily to Phuket. They are operating out of Suvarnabhumi Airport until Don Mueang Airport reopens  6 March.

Thai AirAsia offers nine fights daily with regular fares starting at Bt3,650 with a 7 kg allowance for carry-on luggage. Checked-in luggage costs  extra.

In addition, Bangkok Airways recently launched its co-campaign “Fly High Class at Friendly Price with mobile phone service provider AIS.

Customers get a 10% discount on fares on all routes when making reservations during February and March for travel until end of April except between 13 and 17 April. AIS customers can get details at
