Sunseeker, British manufacturer of sleek motor yachts, has chosen Phuket as the venue for this year’s annual International Distributor Conference, which will be held from November 14 to 18, at the JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa.

A total of 152 distributors and dealers from around the world, some with their spouses, will fly in for the event.

Presiding over it will be President and founder Robert Braithwaite CBE DL, and Managing Director Stewart McIntyre, who will bring 39 staff from the UK factory.

Also in attendance will be 15 of the major parts suppliers, including engine makers, electronics suppliers, tenders and shipping agents.

“With other ancillary staff we will have over 240 people here for the four days,” Craig Murphy, Managing Director of Sunseeker Thailand/Max-Marine Asia, told The Phuket News.

“During this time we will have presentations on new products and innovations from the factory and the suppliers. It is a chance for all of us to collaborate on direction for Sunseeker yachts.

“There is, as always, a family feel to the whole conference with lots of party functions over the time,” he added. These will include a golf tournament at Blue Canyon on November 17, and “a big fancy dress party” with an Asian theme that evening.

“Max Marine Asia/Sunseeker Thailand are extremely proud to be chosen as the country to host the event,” Mr Murphy said.

Mr Braithwaite is no stranger to Phuket. Earlier this year he was at the Pimex boat show to open the Sunseeker stand.
