Thailand is a hugely colourful country; not just because of the vibrant hues which make up the stunning countryside of this exotic country, but also due to the wide variety of festivals organised here which are a key part of Thai culture.

Up and down the length of the country in cities, towns and villages from north to south, festivals are organised throughout the year, many of which are featured in our luxury life magazine.

And this month, the Pattaya International Music Festival comes to town, a three day fiesta of live music which is played out on the beaches and main streets of this coastal resort.

Organisers of this annual event are currently setting up five stages in the Bali Hai area of Pattaya in preparation for the start to this popular festival which allows visitors a glimpse of one aspect of modern Thai culture.

The first Pattaya International Music Festival was held 11 years ago, and the event, organised by a corporation of Tourism Authority Thailand, Chonburi and Pattaya City, has been growing in success ever since.

Now regarded as one of the biggest international beach music festivals in Asia, it brings together a large number of famous Asian and Thai artists and draws over 400,000 music fans from around the world each year.

Last year, musicians that performed during the three day festival covered by luxury life magazines from across the world included Thai bands such as Da Endorphine, Golf-Mike, Potato, Palaphol, and Calories Blah Blah. Meanwhile there was also a strong presence from foreign artists who included Derrick Hoh from Singapore, Super Kidz from Indonesia and PDR and Rain from Korea.

The Pattaya International Music Festival aims to promote Pattaya’s image as a family beach destination and also as a city of music in this beautiful part of Thailand.
