Top Phuket chefs showcased at ‘Six of the Best’

Experiencing six of Phuket’s top dining experiences over the course of a year would be special enough, but to experience them in one night is exceptional. On May 25, this is exactly what will happen for a few lucky diners attending the third annual Six of the Best event at Paresa Resort.

Paresa General Manager Scot Toon said, “We want an event that would be different and showcase some of Phuket’s great chefs.”

This year sees the return of Anantara Phuket’s Chef Justin Maiklem, Paresa’s Chef Ryan Aboleda and Chef Aaron Hooper from Joe’s Downstairs.

They are joined by event rookies Chef Ronnie Macuja from Vset Restaurant, Chef Flavio Manzoni from the new Pullman Arcadia Resort, and Martin Ostlind, chef and owner of Taste Restaurant.

At Six of the Best, the chefs will first create a canapé, and then will each prepare one of six courses matched with beverages.

The event will raise funds for the Good Shepherd Learning Center in Phuket Town.

Last year’s event saw 68 people attend, raising just under B700,000 for the children at the school. The money helps run the school and provide books, teaching resources and meals.

Each year prior to the event the six chefs also visit the school with lunch and treats for the kids.

Suppliers from across the island also support this event with beverages from companies such as BB&B, Siam Winery and world class food and beverages from Jagota, Choice and Farang Foods, with the chefs dressed once again by Bragard.
