Emirates has announced plans to add a sixth daily flight to Bangkok.

From 27 October 2013, the carrier will add a new afternoon service to the Thai capital, departing Dubai at 1520 and arriving at Suvarnabhumi airport at 0020. The return service will leave Bangkok at 0155, getting back into Dubai International Airport at 0545. The new daily service will be operated using a three-class Boeing 777-200ER with 12 seats in first class, 42 in business class and 220 in economy.

From the same date, Emirates will also upgrade another of its Dubai-Bangkok flights to the larger Airbus A380 aircraft.

“Emirates’ sixth daily service to Bangkok launches on the same day as the start of our second daily Airbus A380 service to the city, demonstrating the importance of Thailand to the airline,” said Barry Brown, Emirates’ divisional senior vice president of commercial operations for the region.

“Due to passenger demand, we have seen a steady increase in terms of services and capacity on our Southeast Asian routes. In addition to the Bangkok sixth daily, Emirates is also increasing its Hong Kong services to four daily from 27 October and will be launching a daily, non-stop service to Clark in the Philippines from 1 October,” he added.

The announcement of the latest increase comes just six months after Emirates added its fifth daily Bangkok flight.
