Absolute Review : The Factory Cafe

Posted on October 4, 2013

The brainchild of architect Tantanan Srinawakul, Factory Cafe is a sleek, urban space that wouldn’t look out of place on Bangkok’s trendy Thong Lor avenue. Instead, Factory occupies the ground floor of an obscure building down a small alley in quiet Phuket Town.

The location works in Factory Cafe’s favour. Its industrial chic decor stands in stark contrast to the faux-Grecian design of the surrounding buildings. A brick-backed counter bleeds into the grey concrete floor, occupied by dark brown leather sofas and foldaway metal chairs.

So what do we really think about the place. Let’s start with aroma you can taste the coffee soon as you sit down. Our favorite drink has to be the caramel macchiato, and it comes in two delicious versions – the traditional hot version, and the iced version.

Saying that our favorite beverage at The Factory Cafe is the “Gorilla Jump”, which is a blend of bananas, coffee, a shot of chocolate and banana syrup. It’s a sweet and sticky drink that’s perfect for Phuket’s hot days.

Tackling the menu we would opt for the deep friend spring rolls. They are the perfect combination of crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and they taste delicious!

All in all it’s the perfect place to stop and take a break – especially for Absolute guests who might be touring around the town – and have a coffee and a cake. Another advantage is that The Factory Cafe offers a meeting room, which is good to do work in and they also offer a client meeting set up at no extra charge.
