Phuket’s Patong Carnival set to kick off

This year’s annual Patong Carnival runs from Sunday (December 15) until next Friday (December 20), the 28th year the carnival has been organised. The programme is as follows:

December 15: 8 am offering of alms to 28 monks at Loma Park. 4:30 pm, start of the traditional street parade, from Soi Dtan on Phang Muang Sai Kor Rd area to get ready. The parade will go along Phang Muang Sai Kor Rd, Prachanukhro Rd and Taweewong Rd to the Ramphet football field.

7.50 pm, Official opening of the 2013 Phuket Tourist Season followed by concerts on two stages, one next to the football ground and the other at the end of Bangla Rd. Concerts will feature Harnthaorangsipracha School band, Got Jakrapun, and Maleehuana.

December 16: Concerts: 7 pm Harnthaorangsipracha School band; 9:30 pm Film Rattapoom; 10 pm Pu Pongsit concert.

December 17: Concerts: 7 pm Navadarajudis Taksin School band; 9:30 pm Pand Nakarin and Takkatan Chonlada; 10 pm Kang Gang.

December 18: Concerts: 7 pm Navadarajudis Taksin School band; 9 pm Bao V; 9:30 pm Phai Pongsathorn.

December 19: Concerts: 7 pm Mathayom Wat Kuan Wiset School band (Trang); 9:30 pm Punch Worakarn; 10 pm Job 2 Do.

December 20: 8:30 am underwater and beach trash collection competition, starting from Loma Park. Concerts: 7 pm Mathayom Wat Kuan Wiset School; 9:30 Ice Sarunyu; 10 pm Labanoon concert.
