Flag-Raising Ceremony for Asian Beach Games held, Phuket comes to life

Phuket Governor Nisit Chansomwong presided over the Flag-Raising Ceremony of the 4th Asian Beach Games at the Sapan Hin Sports Centre in the afternoon of November 11. After completion of the ceremony, Nisit disclosed about the Games preparation that following the effect of current monsoon rains, many sides faced obstacles in working on their assignments.

“All tasks have been 90 per cent progressing. However, I believe that everything will get set ahead of time. I would like the Phuket residents to be part of the Games,” Nisit said.

The atmosphere in Phuket downtown and at all the six competition venues comprising Patong Beach, Karon Beach, Naiyang Beach, Bang Niew Dum, Muang Chaofah and Sapan Hin Sports Centre has become very bustle because the athletes and officials from 43 countries  started arriving in Phuket. Furthermore, it is now high season for Phuket, which will see a lot of tourists return to the province to see the amazing beauty of Phuket, regarded as “the Pearl of the Andaman Sea”.
