AirAsia will increase the number of routes it offers between Thailand and Malaysia this summer, with the launch of two new unique services: Johor Bahru-Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur-Pattaya.

The new service from the southern Malaysian city of Johor Bahru to Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport will commence on 17 July 2015, with four weekly flights running ever Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. AirAsia will be the only airline operating this route.

This new route will come just a day after AirAsia launches its new KL-Pattaya services. As previously reporting in Travel Daily, this new route will also operate every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, and AirAsia will be the only airline to offer this direct service.

Spencer Lee, head of commercial for AirAsia, said the new routes are “consistent with our continuous efforts to provide the widest route network in ASEAN and beyond, connecting communities and creating new market segments throughout this region.”

AirAsia operates all its flights using a fleet of 180-seat Airbus A320 aircraft.
