Royal Phuket Yacht Club to rebrand as The Nai Narn

The former Royal Phuket Yacht Club will be relaunched as The Nai Harn on 16 January 2016.

Located close to Phuket‘s southernmost tip, the property was sold in May 2014 to a private equity firm. And following an extensive 18-month refurbishment, the resort is now preparing to reopen under its new name.

The Nai Harn will offer 130 rooms and suites with views of the Andaman Sea. Facilities will include spa with five treatment rooms, and a new pool, plus six F&B outlets, including a rooftop deck.

“We are delighted to have taken over such an iconic hotel. It is with a strong sense of responsibility we have done this and we will be respecting the heritage of the resort as well as looking to the future with design innovations that will make the most of its incredible location,” said The Nai Harn’s chief operating officer, Christoph Berger.

“Importantly too we will be fully embracing southern Thai art and culture and bringing it into the resort experience both inside and outside of the resort so that guests can feel relaxed, inspired and engaged by the history and natural context of the destination.”

Launched in 1986, the resort has hosted many high profile guests over the years, including Thailand’s Queen Sirikit, Prince Albert of Monaco, former French president Jacques Chirac, and actors Sir Peter Ustinov, Forest Whitaker and Roger Moore.
