Expolink Global Network’s managing director, Phusit Sasitharanon, who also well known as an international exhibition organiser said, “Phuket is the centre of Thailand’s economy and the island has potential to become the Mice City of the region.
“It has over 500 hotels, an international airport and many tourist attractions. The FOOD and HOTELEX 2015 trade exhibition will offer products, exhibitions and seminars that will promote and increase business opportunities for Phuket. It is also a way to enter the international market,” he said.
“Phuket is ready to host an event such as this and is ready to be the centre of all trade for the southern region.
“Phuket has a great impact on the growth of Thailand’s and other country’s tourism industry. This is a great opportunity for Phuket to introduce their food and hospitality businesses to an international market,” he added.
It is expected that more than 50 businesses from all over Thailand will display a range of food and products used in the hospitality business at the event and that more than 3,000 people will attend.
Many activities are lined up covering education, entertainment and more.
Highlights of the event include a “Thailand Junior Championship” cooking competition and The Night of Wines event which will be an opportunity for local business people to meet with business experts.
Mr Phusit added that Royal Phuket Marina is fully supportive of the event, and the food and hospitality businesses taking part.
“I believe this event will benefit food, hotel, hospitality businesses and Thailand’s tourism industry and I hope it will help broaden our markets and improve the quality of our services, and also that it prepares us better for entering the Asean community.
