Thailand’s Ministry of Culture has recently launched a new mobile application called “Thai Culture Mobile” to provide information on more than 70,000 cultural tourist destinations.
Culture Ministry, Veera Rojpojanarat, said the App was launched to correspond with the government’s digital economy policy and to expand access to the internet to research cultural tourist destinations.
The Thai Culture Mobile app was developed in cooperation with Ministry of Science, Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, and Silpakorn University.
The minister said: “The information and photos in the app have been reviewed to update all cultural tourist destinations. The app can guide tourists to the destinations within a 10-km radius.”
The application will also provide information on cultural tourist destinations, museums, local performances, festivals and art and handicraft.
Cotent is in Thai, Chinese and English initially for an audience searching for information on Bangkok’s culture.
Silpakorn University is also planning to expand the App to include Japanese, Korean, and French versions.
The App is available for both iOS and Android operating systems.
