Four Thai spas picked up top honours at the 11th annual AsiaSpa Awards held in Hong Kong last week.
The top honour was the “Spa of the Year” award in the Southeast Asia and Pacific region.
As Thailand’s spas won four awards it was an even tie with China in terms of awards won by countries.
The 11th AsiaSpa Awards were organised by the AsiaSpa magazine, a lifestyle and travel publication.
A panel of 23 judges selected the awards in 24 categories. They included spas, hotels and resorts, retreats, academies, personalities and products recognised for their outstanding achievement at the highest of luxury standards, ecological awareness and technical innovation.
Spa of the Year (Southeast Asia and the Pacific) – Kamalaya Wellness Sanctuary and Holistic Spa, Samui, Thailand.
Day Spa of the Year – TRIA Signature, Bangkok, Thailand.
Men’s Spa of the Year – Elemis Spa Bangkok, The St Regis Bangkok, Thailand.
Medi-Spa of the Year – Dii Wellness Med Spa, Bangkok, Thailand.
Tourism Authority of Thailand governor, Yuthasak Supasorn, said: “TAT would like to congratulate all the winners for their hard work and commitment to excellence, which brings recognition both for them and Thailand. These are exactly the kind of high standards, which help to attract high-spend visitors to Thailand and positively raises our profile and brand image.”
