Romantics are being welcomed to Thailand, as the country embraces Valentine’s Day for an entire month.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand is rolling out campaigns to draw, lovers, honeymooners and those still enjoying the romance of married life to book a trip in the “month of love” for a memorable experience in the “Land of Smiles”.
Officially launched Monday, the campaign is a joint effort with Suvarnabhumi Airport and the Immigration Division.
TAT governor, Yuthasak Supasorn said: “February is the month of Valentine’s Day. For those in love, Thailand offers a variety of amazing hotels, resorts, spas, restaurants and shopping to have a great time.
“In recent years, Thailand was voted “Best Honeymoon Destination” by various websites and media. We want all couples to have a memorable time in Thailand, and one of the best ways is by facilitating their passage through the kingdom’s main gateway airport.”
The promotion claims “couples visiting Thailand to get married, enjoy a honeymoon, or even propose to a loved one will find romance starting with Suvarnabhumi Airport.”
To support its promise, TAT has set up two photo booths and registration counters located in the east and west concourses of the arrivals and departures halls, where couples receive a memento of their trip.
Suvarnabhumi Airport and immigration have introduced a premium lane to provide fast-track passport checks for couples. Services linked to the promotion are open daily 0400 to 2400.
After a short registration process, couples will be given souvenirs and privileges, and their names will be entered in a lucky draw making them eligible to win prizes such as,domestic air tickets and accommodation. The lucky winners will be announced on http://www.tourismthailand.org/romanticthailand.
