Hyatt launches new brand in Southeast Asia

A new Hyatt Place hotel has opened in Phuket, marking the brand’s arrival in Southeast Asia.

Hyatt Place Phuket Patong is a 161-room beachfront hotel, located in the centre of Phuket’s main tourism district. In line with the Hyatt Place brand ethos, the hotel offers a range of guest-friendly amenities, such as free Wi-Fi, rooms that sleep three people, and 24-hour facilities.

“Thailand continues to be an important market for Hyatt, and Phuket is one of Southeast Asia’s premier tourist destinations where demand from both leisure and business visitors continues to grow,” said David Udell, Hyatt’s group president for Asia Pacific.

“Hyatt Place Phuket Patong is the second Hyatt-branded hotel in Phuket, and we believe the hotel will exceed guest expectations and provide them with everything they need while visiting this beautiful island.”

All rooms at the new hotel will feature balconies and “cozy corner” sleeping areas for a third guest, and 10 of the units have large balconies with views of the Andaman Sea. All guests will be offered complimentary Wi-Fi and breakfast, plus 24-hour use of a fitness centre and an F&B outlet that serves snacks, sandwiches and salads. There is also an outdoor pool, bar and meeting space.

And completing the guest-friendly focus, the hotel offers an “Odds & Ends” scheme, which allows guests to buy or borrow items that they may have left at home.

Hyatt Place Phuket Patong becomes Hyatt’s fourth hotel in Thailand, following the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, Hyatt Regency Hua Hin and Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort. The company also has three hotels under development in the country, including the Park Hyatt Bangkok, Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit and Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit.

The Hyatt Place brand is now present in three Asia Pacific countries: China, India and Thailand. And it will also debut in Australia in 2017, with the opening of a new hotel in Melbourne.
