Agoda ties the knot with TravelGay

Agoda and TravelGay announce partnership to promote LGBT travel in the region saying the recent LGBT+ Travel Symposium hosted in Thailand was the catalyst.

TravelGay, is a gay travel, entertainment and lifestyle guide for Europe, USA and Asia’s most popular gay destinations.

It is aligning with Agoda, one of the world’s fastest-growing online booking platforms and a member of the group.

The joint announcement said the decision follows Thailand’s recent pledge to support an increased marketing focus on the LGBT traveller. The two partners claim this was evidenced by the inaugural LGBT+ Travel Symposium, hosted in Bangkok 29 to 30 June by the Tourism Authority of Thailand. LGBT is an abbreviation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender.

TravelGay and Agoda have agreed to work closely together to provide the reliable LGBT travel content to their users, who make up part of the 35 million LGBT travellers annually.

TravelGay managing director Darren Burn said: “We have expanded our site rapidly since acquiring the business just a few months ago and intend to work together with our accommodation partners … Together with our sister brand, we are the largest LGBT travel business in the world. By working with a company as well-known as Agoda, we hope to further enhance our offering to the millions of visitors a year who visit our websites.”

The partnership will provide better access to the latest up-to-date information for the most safe, welcoming and LGBT-friendly places to stay, visit or hang out, Burn said.

TravelGay launched in Bangkok in 2011 as “Travel Gay Thailand”.  Quickly expanding outside of Thailand and beyond Asia.

Headquartered in Singapore, Agoda is part of Booking Holdings (Nasdaq: BKNG) and employs more than 3,700 staff across 53 cities in more than 30 countries.
