GoAir’s launches first-ever Phuket-India direct flights

GoAir, one of India’s fastest growing airlines, landed its first-ever direct flight into Phuket from New Delhi this morning (Oct 11). The flight also marked the first-ever direct flight from India to Phuket.

GoAir had recently announced Phuket as its first international destination, with new international schedule introducing direct flights connecting Phuket with Mumbai and New Delhi.

The direct flights between Phuket and Delhi operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays, while the direct flights between Phuket and Mumbai operate on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

In the aviation tradition to mark key milestones, Flight G8 31 was welcomed on landing at Phuket International Airport with a grand water cannon salute. On entering the terminal, the 182 passengers on board were handed gifts and received a personal reception by GoAir top management and staff.

Commenting on the launch of their international operations, Mr. Arjun Dasgupta, Vice President – International, GoAir said, “As Phuket is a popular destination, we are delighted to be responding to the growing demand for tourist and business travel with the first addition to the international route network. On the other hand, India has a significant base for business and tourism and we look forward to extending our hospitality to our passengers in this new phase of growth.”

Phuket International Airport General Manager Thanee Chuangchoo, said, “It is heartening to witness a direct connectivity between Phuket and India. Today, GoAir commenced its first ever direct flight service from India to Phuket.

“Phuket International Airport welcomes the passengers from India and extend all the support to the airline. We believe the new services offered by GoAir will greatly contribute to the growth of tourism of Thailand. We look forward to working together with GoAir towards our goal of establishing Phuket International Airport as the Gateway to Thailand.”
